Cancer Mission Day 2026

Thursday, June 25, 2026 in Almedalen

How do we move from political ambition to real change in cancer care? Cancer is a global societal challenge. To address it, we must create better conditions for implementing new knowledge, new methods, and interventions. We need to think differently and adopt a holistic perspective on health.

Cancer Mission Day brings together leading stakeholders from healthcare, research, government agencies, industry, and civil society to jointly explore how prevention, precision medicine, health data, and new ways of working can strengthen both patient outcomes and Sweden’s competitiveness. Through cross-sector dialogue and concrete examples, the day demonstrates how the cancer strategy can be put into action—from early detection and data-driven innovation to equitable follow-up and quality of life.

The day concludes with the launch of SweCan, Sweden’s Cancer Mission Hub, where unexpected encounters become the driving force for the next step in systemic transformation.
